• The overview includes four thematic and chronological units:
o the period of music modernism from the end of the 19th century until World War I;
o the period of the New Objectivity, which discusses the music of the period between the two World Wars.
o the period of the cultural renewals that deals with music produced from the end of World War II until the 60s, and
o the period of ramification of the musical landscape, which discusses the music produced from the 60s until today.
• Every year, the lectures focus on an overview of the entire problematic and also offer an in-depth analysis of the chosen music-historical topic. In that way, the student acquires a fairly detailed insight into one of the issues by looking at the context in which it is situated within a given time frame.
