After a theoretical introduction into literary rhetoric, students analyse the structure and function of imagery in selected texts. Special emphasis is placed on the analysis of imagery in translations.
In thematology literary themes will be put into the foreground (biblical, mythological, historical) as well as their variations (invariants) in literature.
